Bonjour ma famile et amis,
This week was a super good week, I read the beginning of the week was
P-Day. We went bowling with a bunch of other missionaries
for one of the missionaries birthday. In the evening, I went with one of the
missionaries to a little city called Manosque which is about 40
minutes away. There is actually a small branch of the church that is
located in kind of like a shopping center, so it was really interesting. I was
there with Elder Garside, who I had worked with back when I was in
Perpignan, it was really cool to work with him again. We got a lot of
conversations underway and worked really hard. 🙂 We were able to enjoy some pizza with a member who has been kind of struggling, it was a really
good experience for him and for us to be together. 🙂
Then the next day, My companion came up came up and we went to Gap.
Gap, is a little city in the middle of the Alps, it is a very beautiful place. We had the opportunity to work with one of the senior couples who is living there it was really great to have them there to help us with the missionary work. We were able to have a crêpe night, where we eat crêpes with a few members and some ami’s. There is a branch in Gap which consists of about 30 people that come every week. They chapel is on Main Street a is and is converted office space. 🙂 It is a really inspiring to see all of the Saints working together in these little cities even when they don’t have a lot of much support or a lot of members. 🙂
There were some complications happening in the companionship, here, so we were staying together on the exchange for four days, I think. Anyway I
spent the last few days here in Gap including Saturday and Sunday. On Saturday night, there was a branch Christmas party and it was really fun to be there with them and celebrate here in the Alps. 🙂 After church yesterday, we drove up into the mountains to visit a member and help their neighbor move some furniture. It was so picturesque, we saw
cows with bells on their necks! It was incredibly beautiful. The people we helped move live in a little village at the base of the ski mountain it is the most beautiful place I’ve seen in my life. 🙂
Spending a few days there in the Alps helped get us excited for
Christmas, as there was snow in the mountains which made it pretty easy. 🙂 We sang Christmas songs at Church and even had some hot chocolate! It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas!
Sorry, but there is not much time this week to write email’s as this morning I just came back to Aix. It is a lot warmer here. 🙂 It has been an adventurous week and it’s been a very a busy, but a very good week!
Here are some pics from the alps!
